ADV ANNOUNCES MAY 24 RELEASES
HOUSTON, April 25, 2005 —ADV Films, the number one producer-distributor of anime in North America, is pleased to announce two exciting new titles set to hit the streets on May 24 – the hit samurai anime Peace Maker 5 and the next chapter in the live-action ninja splatter-fest, Shinobi 4.

The fan-favorite samurai series continues when Peace Maker: The Spider's Web hits store shelves everywhere May 24.
Known for its winning combination of elegant design, serious adventure, and sharp comedy, Peace Maker was produced by the acclaimed Gonzo Digimation (Gantz, Chrono Crusade) with character designs by noted craftsman Akemi Hayashi (Fruits Basket). The series follows the career of 15-year old Tetsunosuke Ichimura, who joins the elite Shinsengumi swordsmen after his parents were murdered by Choshu rebels.
Synopsis: A Web of Treachery awaits the men of the Shinsengumi. Spun by an Onmyou mystic in the charge of a fallen and unbalanced lord, it threatens to destroy the Shinsengumi altogether. At the same time, a man posing as Okita has begun cutting down Shogunate patrols, while a band of Choshu ronin make a brazen assault in broad daylight! But the Shinsengumi have their own web-weavers – and they send a spy straight into the heart of the Choshu clan. As the trap closes its jaws, who is hunter and who is prey?
Peace Maker: The Spider's Web (SRP $29.98 DVD) is a DVD-only release including episodes 16-18 of the anime series, presented in both English 5.1 and Japanese 2.0 with English subtitles. Extras include two new Character Collections plus production sketches, clean opening animation, clean closing animation, and previews of upcoming ADV Films releases.

Synopsis: The country of Iga is deep in the throws of war. With smaller villages falling one by one, the largest families are in position to vie for their share of the power. Sankai of Minamiyama has his sinister eyes fixed – not only on total control of the area, but on Kagerou as well. After fleeing the village of Shiroyama, Kagerou and Aoi have been relentlessly hunted. And now, with the civil war in full flux, and Aoi in enemy hands, it is time for one last attempt to escape the clutches of the deadly Shinobi hierarchy – or die trying. They are all alone.
