• The Story:
The world is in constant distress caused by Kaiju - monstrous beings emerging without warning that devour cities and lives. However, the Japanese Anti-Kaiju Defense Force (JAKDF) will not yield or let humanity crumble, but instead, exceptionally trained fighters harness the power of those Kaiju to confront new towering threats, meeting them in size and skill.
Among those terrorized by Kaiju are Kafka Hibino and Mina Ashiro, who are childhood friends and share the fate of their hometown having been destroyed by Kaiju. Both of them vow to become members of the JAKDF to fight Kaiju together. Yet, as luck would have it, just as he is set on his goal, a parasitic creature infects Kafka by which he gains the ability to turn into a humanoid Kaiju. In the ensuing battle, he is given the code name 'Kaiju No. 8' but still enlists in the Defense Force while keeping his monster-form a secret. Eventually, Kafka's powers are revealed, thanks to which he becomes a strong opponent against the Kaiju that have come to overrun the world.

• The Game:
KAIJU NO. 8 THE GAME brings you into the heart of the action as you become a part of the Defense Force. In strategic command-based battles, you defeat the Kaiju with the razor-sharp precision of Soshiro Hoshina's blades or the earth-shattering power of Kikoru Shinomiya's ax! Intuitive controls let you select your Defense Force officers' skill set for attacks, unleashing devastating Ultimates once the core of a Kaiju is exposed. These stunningly animated attacks, rendered in breathtaking 3D graphics, have the ability to turn the battle around for your team, while drawing you in with the sheer force on display.
The key to successful missions lies in the Squad Setup, where you strategically form your 4-person squads. The neutralization of a Kaiju is dependent on assessing your officers' abilities and weapons, as well as using their individual partnerships with each other to trigger follow-up attacks. This opens up the opportunity to discover your personal playing style and become part of the team in a completely new way.

However, it isn't all combat. While set in the original universe of the anime and manga of KAIJU NO. 8, this adaptation also introduces brand-new story elements for you to explore. The game releases on August 31, 2025, and is available on the App Store (for iOS 13.0 or later) and Google Play Store, as well as Steam later in 2025.
