I've been following Bamboo's squealing over Chihayafuru so when I spotted the manga in the break room at work the other day I started reading it. I'm now on vol.13.
Soooooooooo gooooooooood!!!
I wonder how far the anime will go. I highly recommend the manga if you're able to get your hands on it.

Unfortunately the manga stopped being translated around the end of vol. 2 I think. And the anime has already passed that point. I'd like to see the manga (and especially the anime) licensed, but I know better than to expect that to actually happen.

Aww, that's too bad.
So far the only big difference I've noticed between the anime and manga is the way Nikumaru kun joins the club. In the manga they just show Chihaya coming to the club room saying, "Look who I found!" and then he became a member without any objections. ^^; (Oh, and he actually sucked at tennis.)

no. it's not.
just google "Fam Silver Wing dojinshi" and you will see what and who the characters were designed for. |
This is a weird point to make. It's like saying, "Just google 'Digimon dojinshi' and see who the audience is" or "Just google 'Flo + Progressive + Porn' to see what they're REALLY selling."
The internet will pervert anything.

I generally don't follow simulcasts, but someone was raving about Chihayafuru on Twitter so I decided to see what was up. Man, that show has me cheering and giggling like a doofus. In the beginning, I was sad that it probably wouldn't be brought over, but now I'm devastated D': These past two eps have been amazing
I usually don't like "sports-ish" anime, but this is an exception for people to check out. It has a wee bit of shojo for the girls, but I don't think guys should be turned off by it (not that guys can't like shojo, of course)

If it means anything to those arguing about the shojo-esque nature of Fam, the manga adaptation is published in a seinen magazine (Young Ace), though the wiki article lists it as Shounen
@mannyperson - For what its worth, Chihayafuru is from a Josei magazine. That may explain why it is more mature than your average shojo...
