I'm less bothered by how boring they are than by how cheaply-made they look.

My concerns about the "Cardcaptor Sakura" dresses aren't just their looks. And they are the fact that they were made in the first place. I can't believe that CLAMP would just throw money at a reputable fashion designer to develop clothes that wouldn't look out of place at a costume party. It's like that picture that enurtsol showed us. Why on God's green earth would any self-respecting adult would wear stuff like that?
Some stuff just looks better on the comic page than real life. I'm with a lot of the other commenters on this post. The "Cardcaptor Sakura" dresses should stay in the manga where they belong. Sorry Madison aka Tomoyo. You wouldn't make a good fashion designer in the real world. You'd be a flop if you made clothes like this.

I've seen a lot better cosplays of these outfits at random conventions. They DO translate well as real dresses if you're skilled enough.
It's just these are toned down for everyday wear, but even then they're kind of boring. They could have afforded to brighten the colors a little bit, at least.

These are ugly dresses.
I'm sure someone can re-create a pattern and actually make it look like clothes for women.
I don't even know how these are inspired by their manga counterparts

All of these would look terrible on me, and yet, I want them all anyway, *___*

Horribly overpriced. I might even make a better job at sewing a sakura-inspired dress, that's how I feel when I look at them... I quite like the idea behind the last one though.
