From a plot perspective, not really. But then again, this show really isn't about plot. Penguin Empire attacks, Daimidaler piloted by Annoying Guy rubbing What's-Her-Name's boobs fights back. But there are some larfs sprinkled here and there. Was Ritz (she's the human female who defected to the Penguin Empire 'coz she really likes penges and won't forgive you if you smack-talk them or try to hurt them) introduced by the time you dropped this show? If not, might be worth watching just to see her intro'd.

I couldn't go on after ep 3, so yes, I saw her intro into the show. Since this will very likely be dubbed, and I have yet to come across a Funi fan service dub that I hated, I'll probably give in and try it again when that becomes available

Well, that's always been the gag. They've always been better people than the "heroes." They're the ones who are always trying to limit damage to the city, etc. Plus, the pengees have always been big porn lovers, so you know that makes them the good guys.

I think I commented during the preview talkback for this season that I found the show's Evangelion parody to be quite hilarious. And, like I said, these penguins are such a bizarre spectacle that it is hard not to watch and see what they might do next. I can be ok with low brow stuff of this level as long as it doesn't try to pretend to be something else. |
