AnimeJapan 2015 - Part 2:

Oh, boy. ANN keeps eating my RAM, and I'm a full-on accomplice Twisted Evil
Starting with a side-by-side of Love Live! School Idol Project's Kōsaka Honoka and Show by Rock!!'s Cyan makes it look like a copy-paste was done here (same overall oval face features, same level of color vividness, almost the same eye color & shape). Hmmm....

Some Haikyū!! images, some Yowamushi Pedal, Psycho-Pass, and then I see Monster Musume no Iru Nichijō's booth, with Mīa's portrait having her breasts popping out from the wall! I see she got a Rias Gremory style treatment, like the one from the High School DxD BorN signboard featured in the Let's Go To Tokyo: Day Two article:

So many other pictures to comment on... How I wish I could be there Crying or Very sad

There are so many things I could say about all these amazing displays and incredible hype it builds up, but instead, I'm going to opt for something entirely different:

'Oh how the mighty have fallen'

- the 1 picture from the 5th generation expansion of the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise, Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc V.

Noticed the Saint Tail Blu-ray box. Want it, but it's way out of my budget.

Wow, World Trigger has hit the big leagues. I remember reading it when it first came out and thought it was good and had potential, but not big enough to be featured at a convention.

Also, there are Haruhi Suzumiya slot machines? Casinos in Japan must be weird.

There used to be an American comic book publisher called Comico. How long as the manga publisher been around? It must explain why the American Comico known as CO₂ Comics now. (Frankly, American Comico's comics weren't all that good.)

What's that Spider-Man show dentsu's doing? (Or has done?)

Seeing that Koro-sensei balloon up there makes me think: It must feel really honoring to be the author of a manga and have your main character be huge and towering like that.

Heh, BS1 is trying Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures? That's quite the big risk, considering My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, which was more likely to succeed, could not get a big enough audience.

Not really that different. The vast majority of stuff at E3 is already announced promotional stuff just like this. Only a small percentage is for the entirely new. It is one of the major criticisms levelled at E3 the last bunch of years. That it has devolved into essentially a big marketing push for games with little new.

What about smaller and indie developers? Surely there'd be at least one of them with something new to announce at E3 each year.

Yeah, it's a really forgotten series that used to be pretty big in its day. But hey, that's entertainment: You get the limelight, and then you lose it. (Unless you become something REALLY big.)

I haven't seen much traction about World Trigger on the sites I follow (including ANN) so I was wondering how well it was being received in Japan. Good to see it's doing well.

Great Coverage of the convention, Bamboo.

Also thank you for this...

Just the right kind of creepy lol

Yeah clearly misunderstood the purpose of it then. I thought this was supposed to be something like the E3 trade show of anime.

I think E3 has basically evolved into something more akin to AnimeJapan. Many of the companies make their E3 announcements ahead of time in hopes that they don't get buried in among everything else at the show, so a lot of it simply ends up being promotional effort for games people already know about.

You're not alone, I too find these caricature of these 2 look horrifyingly creepy, it looks like something out of a horror film (Annabelle, anyone?).
