As others have stated, I hoping that they will announce another 12 episodes at a later date. IIRC, Xebec's last mecha series, Fafner Exodus, was originally listed at 13 episodes but another 13 episodes were confirmed as the first cour wrapped up. Even if you cut out DVMC, I can't see how Xebec could follow the same plot of the remaining novels in just 12 episodes.

Considering that Kyoto Animations did TSR, I think you better lower your expectations.
