"Lions with wheels" made me think of some of the really truly wild "divine animals" described in the Old Testament. Wings in crazy arrangements are what usually come to mind, but I distinctly remember lots of chariot wheels in places that probably shouldn't have been spinning. I also briefly thought of Buer, but that's more a lion as the wheel.
The last segment was just cute and fuzzy, though. The way the camera starts cutting behind Shimoda so you can see his cute little wings while they're shooting down his guesses meant you end up figuring it out right as the answer becomes clear. It turns out his antenna really is an actual WiFi antenna, not just a visual gag. I haven't had much to say about this series overall, but I will be sad to see it go. |

I enjoyed this series a lot, both the combination of designers working for a challenging client, and the bioengineering challenges inherent in different animal types. The science was good and it's especially pleasing to have a good time watching the show while learning facts about animal physiology and different animal types. I liked the range of characters too, with them being so different in type and sensibility and yet harmonious as a group.
And I could watch them trying to get winged and horned horses to work out all day. I wouldn't mind seeing this series come back for another season. |
