It could be that this dub was made for a Japanese audience. Seeing how there plenty of shows that Amazon has that aired 2 years before Vinland Saga, it's almost a given that they will still have season 1 even after season 2 has aired. As for season 2, it certainly looks like Netflix will be gunning for it. So unless Funiamtion gets it or Sentai do what they've done with hero Mask, netflixs dub will be the main dub.
