Sega began streaming on Friday the full animation project for its Sonic Racing CrossWorlds game:
The animation project was initially announced to premiere in September.
Sonic Racing CrossWorlds will feature guests from other Sega franchises including Hatsune Miku, Like a Dragon's Ichiban, and Persona 5's Joker. The Minecraft franchise will also appear in the game. The game will crossover with Nickeledeon animated series: SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Avatar: The Last Airbender. The game is collaborating with Bandai Namco for a DLC pack including Pac-Man, Ghosts, and Pac-Village that launches for the game in early 2026
Sega will release the game on September 25 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. The game will also have a Nintendo Switch 2 release digitally in holiday 2025 and physically in early 2026 with the full game on the cartridge. There will be a Switch 2 upgrade pack for owners of the Switch version, and progress will carry over.
The game is getting an Open Network Test from Friday-Monday. There was a closed network test from February 22-24.
Sega released the Team Sonic Racing game in May 2021 physically and digitally for PS4, Xbox One, and Switch (with a digital-only release on PC). The game is a kart racing game featuring characters from the franchise, as well as both online multiplayer and single player modes. The game also features team vs. team gameplay.
