Still hoping that someday, Discotek will license Gaiking: Legend of Daiku-Maryu since they got the original Gaiking.

I wound up picking up a copy of The Time Etranger after Justin's Buried Treasure heaped praise on it, but I haven't gotten around to watching it yet. Cool to see it getting a format upgrade.

Wow, amazing news. The OVA getting licensed again isn't a huge shock, but it's always been a shame the original show hasn't been accessible in any form - I didn't even figure Discotek would go for it. My thought process seeing this headline: "Oh, well, good that Time Etranger will be out there again, buuuut as usual, nobody will ever get the TV sh-buuuWAUAHAHH???"

<3 <3 <3 I love you Discotek <3 <3 <3

I too own CPM's Time Stranger release and I also haven't seen it. The completist in me is pleased that no the TV show will be available although for all I know I may not even like it.

It should also be mentioned in the article that they have both CPM & Manga UK dubs for The Time Étranger so for anyone unsure to double-dip or upgrade, there's now a reason to (if video quality isn't enough).

This!

Really enjoyed watching the 2005 version when it was streaming on Crunchyroll a few years back and would love if they get that series. I already own their release of the 70s show along with Shout's old release of the William Winckler dub so Legend of Daiku-Maryu would be even better.

I too, bought a copy after Justin's Buried Treasure and I have watched it. It has been a few years but I thought it was good. Would be interesting to watch again after getting to see the series. Wonder if it would be more impactful.

For a second I thought it was more Lupin III, as the girl in the thumbnail looks like Fujiko. I know very little about GoShogun other than the fact that it was written by Pokémon's Takeshi Shudo, which is enough to make me interested in looking into this.

The Time Etranger movie also had the same director as Windaria, another title I wish Discotek would give a proper re-release.

I was turned on to this movie from the praise for its themes in a book on anime I read like 15 years ago (Antonia Levi's Samurai from Outer Space). I found the CPM DVD at Fry's like a decade ago on deep discount, lucky me. Glad that Discotek is bringing it back.

This is GREAT news. I've been wanting to watch the original Japanese version of GoShogun (not the old English dub Macron-1) with English subs for the longest time! To my knowledge, the series has never even been fansubbed in its entirety. Just the first few episodes, that's it. There might be a bootleg HK English sub out there but even that is rare.

ALL HAIL DISCOTEK FOR BEING AWESOME AF.

Another excellent pickup for Discotek, and great to see that the movie DVD and Blu-ray will contain both the CPM and Manga Video English dubs!

There was a lovely custom DVD that someone (yes, I know who) did a few years back. If Discotek's release is even half as good as that one, it will be an instant purchase!

Discotek keeps the hits coming like Mike Tyson I really know nothing about this franchise but having seen the opening to the TV series and what the movie looks to be I'll be ordering this.

Good news, indeed! My only exposure to Goshogun was the few episodes of Macron-1 that aired on US tv years ago. I've always wanted to see the original series, so I'm quite happy to see this release.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! This has been my number 1 licence wish for over ten years now. I'm not sure what exactly it is that got me so interested in this franchise, but somehow it became the anime that I most wanted to see. Every time Discotek announced new series, I kept hoping this one would be among them. I can't really describe how happy this makes me.
