"Trailer released"? Just a little further down on the front page, you already have an article with a link to a Youtube version of the trailer (animenewsnetwork.com/news/2007-03-02/trailer-roundup) for the Appleseed film. Those screen shots are much clearer, though.

I believe that youtube trailer is actually for the game, or possibly for the TV series and not the movie, while these screenshots are from the new movie that has John Woo as a producer.

Nice. I only hope the soundtrack is as good as the first. Which was what made me like it.

Since Appleseed is one of the series that got me into Japanese comics and animation, I'm really stoked to see it's resurgence in animated form, where I think modern technology will benefit the storytelling. Maybe the 2nd movie and the upcoming TV series will have the same effect on me as Ghost In The Shell, finally codifying the series for me.

Not impressed. While they look good, it certainly doesn't take the half CG, half animation quality. I know it is a totally[sic] different team and all. But the second one was pretty top notch, while staying in the drawing department.

That said, I am still excited about this film, and I can't wait to watch it.

Oh wow. That looks incredible. Like fighterholic said, I hope that the soundtrack is as good as in the first movie; the techno music really fit the 'mood' of the story, and 'Dive For You' is still one of my favorite songs ever. Although admittedly my favorite thing about the series is and always will be Briareos and his bunny ears ^-^

When is this coming out? I guess I'll have to wait a while for a stateside release, though....

It's the movie trailer that's a bonus feature on the game disc. The church and doves are a dead giveaway that it's John Woo produced.

As others have since said, the youtube trailer is for the movie. Before I wrote my post, I rewatched it to see if all of the screencaptures from that website were from (a much cleaner version of) the trailer.

I do look forward to seeing the new movie (hopefully a theater near here will be running it). When it makes it to DVD (an HD disc probably isn't too likely for the near future), I'll keep my fingers crossed that it won't have the audio problems that affected the first Appleseed film.

I've read this over about 6 times, and it is yet to make any sense whatsoever. Was this translated through Google or Babelfish?
