That sounds awful! I hope she can get all the medical treatment and time she needs to recover and recuperate.

Ouch. Although with modern medicine the prognosis for this type of cancer isn't too dire anymore and the overall 5-year survival rate is ~70%, that is split between children (90%) and adults (30-40%). Best wishes for her.

At least she'll have a lot easier time getting all that than she would stateside (rip Billy Kametz...).

do u know why researchers specifically decided to make the rate 5 years ?

5-year survival rate is standard practice to count cancer mortality/survival. No idea why the praxis adopted 5 years specifically, but probably because it makes it relatively easy to make comparisons on, for example, the effectiveness of treatments etc?...
