Hey! I might check this out. I really liked the books, and having images to go with the story should work really well.

Manga firm my butt. That's an American company. I thought some Japanese publisher had picked it up. That would have been more news. Good for the US publisher, but that was misleading.

I don't see you people reporting on Marvel's Dark Tower comics by Steven King or Dark Horse's graphic novel news, why are you reporting on this? Just because the company publishes manga, doesn't make their American books manga. Hell, Marvel's Runaways could interest manga fans too. Dark Horse's Hellboy is a favorite of many manga artists. DC's Minx is there due to the shojo manga market. I never hear you report crap about them.

Meanwhile, since you did report on it, I will say it sounds interesting. I saw this book on the shelves and it sounded interesting. It also sounded like a dozen anime I've heard of, so I guess it's almost fitting.

Plus that Yen Press is trying an anthology is interesting. I have to applaud them for trying a more Japanese method of publication. I hope they get the sales and distribution to help support it. Really, you need nationwide retail distribution for it to work. It needs to end up in supermarket aisles or check out lines. Good luck to them.

Also, some of Yen Press's other books sound interesting. Particularly that Japanese one about Autism.

I can't wait to see how this gets handled. I really love the Maximum Ride series.

But I'm curious to know what anime it reminded you of? I haven't heard anything quite like Max Ride in the anime department. Maybe more like a crossover of things. (Air meets Elfen Lied? And Max's personality is a bit like Lina Inverse's, I guess. Minus the money grubbing, Robin Hood Gone Wrong thing.)

Makes me happy, though. Max is too cool! She's such a smartass. Patterson's one of my favorite authors! He's so descriptive in the Maximum Ride series, so with actual visuals to go with it, it should be that much better. I just hope the art is to my liking.

I should have said the description on the back of the book reminded me of anime. For some reason I can't think of anything in particular, but I swear the whole kids escaped from a lab with special abilities has been done numerous times.

Also, is CLAMP involved? I mean, it's about people who have wings. Wink Heh heh.
