I don't really get the Frieren one. I mean, I guess the joke is just saying she's a morning person when she's definitely not? Seems pretty basic. Though I don't think I remember her wearing a sweater at any point in the show, is that a reference or did I just forget a scene?

The joke with the DeDeDeDe one is that they removed the '' and made all the Ds in the title Ts. The translation provided in this article ignores that for some reason.

I've gotten the impression that April Fool's has gotten somewhat lost in translation. It seems like some Japanese people literally understand it to be a day where you "tell a lie." Makes me wonder if pranking is just not a thing in Japan or what. |
