Shana season 3?! Laughing

I hope something yuri-related would be something one of those companies are planning. Now would could be that "big hit PC game" Frontier Works is hinting at (in the back of my mind I'm thinking Fate/Zero, but that's wishful thinking and shouldn't be taken as a fact).

Shana is coming this fall after the the novel author's and seiyuu's hints the last couple of days.
Nanoha the Movie will be nice to see.

We may also get Haruhi season 2 or Little Busters this year. I'm also see Da Capo T.Y. listed on the magazine. That may be eventually animated as well.

I don't expect many big hit titles this year and next year since the global economy is in a mess right now. It will be at least 2 full years before anything gets back on its feet and gradually work its way up back to the prime time of 2003-2005 (in anime at least).

Fate/Zero is a light novel adaptation of a big hit PC game, rather than a big hit PC game itself, so that probably isn't it. Since KyoAni probably already has dibs on Little Busters, my money's on Sengoku Rance.

Frontier Works is developing an anime adaptation of a big hit PC game.
Highly unlikely, but I'm still waiting for an adaptation of Muv-Luv. Doesn't look like the sort of thing Frontier Works usually produce, though.

Of course it will be! What with all those series titled, "[unnamed]"! Doesn't sound very exciting does it? 8D

So...is there anything in this upcoming year that will have even an ounce of GAR in it?

...anything?

...Bueller?

A new Ichigo Mashimaro TV series, perhaps?

Maybe that's why only one more OVA episode was planned after the release of the first episode of the second OVA series last week, as an appetizer for a second 12-episode TV series.

I could also take a new season of Kamichu! as I feel there are still many stories of Yurie Hitotsubashi, the middle-school god girl, left to tell.

Hagaren?

Perhaps Eden of the East (really no idea either way).

Or maybe the new COBRA anime.

But really, this is a pretty moe-centric mag. Wink

Looking for GAR in a G's Magazine article is like looking for muscle cars in Ladies' Home Journal. These are the folks who brought us Sister Princess and Futakoi, after all.

Already pretty certain, 99%, that they are talking about Shana. YES! ...But, a new season of Ichigo Mashimaro is needed as well.

Futakoi Alternative FTW! We need a second season of that one, too Smile

Hey, where's Unit 03.5-ish? He should be popping the champaigne about now. This is enough moe already for him to fill 10,000 flame posts! Wink

Looks like Keisuke Iwata hit the nail when he said the anime business should/would retrench back to only what sells to Japanese otaku. We are in for a massive moe binge followed by the nasty indigestion about September, I would say. An interesting experiment: Just how much moe can the Japanese otaku consume?

Please note that these mini-interviews were published in Dengeki G's, a magazine focused on bishoujo games (and to a lesser extent, anime). Naturally, the various companies are going to drop hints regarding anime that audience is interested in (I should note that paying audience). Hence, why all the hints concern bishoujo properties and certain Media Works-like properties. That doesn't mean that's all these companies will sell in 2009. It just happens to be what this particular audience is interested in. Newtype, on the other hand, is a different audience so different anime is promoted there. Same thing for Gundam ACE and so forth.

There are literally hundreds of anime made every year. I'm positive there will be plenty for you to download illegally and then bitch about.

You know...I honestly don't think I want a third Shana season...

The original first one was fine, to be sure...but the second was a trainwreck. There's also the fact that whenever a watchable entertainment medium is concerned...the number 3 is cursed.
