Yeah... that animation is pretty damn bad, even for JC Staff standards. I'm very nervous now.

It was nice until characters started moving that is.If the animation is going to be this bad then why even bother adapting?

I actually don't mind to wait for another 3 years, as long the quality is nice. This is just unacceptable for me. This isn't going to work out. Damn you JC Staff.

Seriously. This looks like its going to be a totally bastardized attempt at it... Honestly, I'd rather it NEVER get an anime than get a really bad one.

Even if it's bastardized, some people may still enjoy it for the story...

I'm glad Kyoto Animation has the newfound freedom to do more types of shows, but I can see the pitchforks coming out for JC Staff now..

It's pretty much impossible to not draw a base comparison to the KyoAni productions. Leaving out animation quality, the productions values on character design, backgrounds, sets, and color palette just seem so substandard. Even KoiChoco had thinner lineart and better CG backgrounds.

Wow. 3 seconds of bad animation and people whine already. The only part that looked remotely "bad" was the part where Kengo was swinging the shinai. Everything else was perfectly fine. But that alone definitely was a bit worrying. But I'm still a lot more concerned about the story. I just dont know how they can make it have the impact it does in the game spoiler[without pulling some type of endless eight thing.]

It was more than the 3 seconds part. The whole thing had the characters looking lifeless while talking, with very little movement. Far different than the other Key adaptions.

It's funny how people just now start to bitch about the animation, when since the 2nd PV and above all the last pv it was pretty clear how the animation it would end up being. xd
As far as I'm concerned, is fine to me and even I think this improved a little in "ilumination/color saturation" departments since the 2nd PV.

I'm not worried, due to I already set my standards as from whom comes.

And at any rate JCstaff tends to mix bad/medium/fine/gorgeous animation in all of their proyects, so this isn't indicating nothing, unless the first episode. I remember they saying To Aru Majutsu II had top traitment but actually was just the same animation formula I pointed out before. So, I expect the same thing.

And I don't want to expect 2390128 years once more to a hypothetical remake or whatever, so just deal with it.

pd: Sorry if something it is weird, I'm spanish actually. xd

Looked okay to me, but maybe I am just bad with seeing terrible animation as others seem to a better eye for it.

Yeah, I think the animation quality is really worrisome. The part when Kengo was swinging his shinai (I can't even tell where did he get his shinai), the part when Rin kicked Masato (that is not even animated), and after Rin throw the ball part (I don't even know why is Rin's right sideburn moved with no particular reason)
And shortly after, the part when Kengo, Masato and Rin were surprised on something (the movement doesn't look natural at all)

Most of the footage doesn't look like it's animated.

I may look like a total idiot, but I really can't see how people think that the animation is THAT bad. Yes, KyoAni's animation looks better.
But I really don't think this is that bad and as long as the story is good (and I only hear praising about the story) this will be awesome I think.

Kanon got a remake years later, so there is always hope.

Count me as another person who didn't see any problems with the animation.
