I love the second season

although some may not consider it canon and more of fanservice or comedy.

As much as I love more Genshiken anime, I have a sad feeling that it will skip WAAAY ahead just to start with the introduction of this new generation of characters and we won't see ANY of those great stories they didn't get to cover in the anime but were in the manga (spoiler[Sasahara and Ogiue's relationship, Ogiue's past, Madarame and Saki alone in clubroom before their graduation], etc.) and this makes me very sad...

I hated the last few volumes of the manga so that suits me. Razz

Oh that's a very good point

Media Blasters barely even exists, so they might just not pick this up. I bet Funi or Sentai will.

I have a doubt, this continues from where second season of anime ends?

We'll see. The anime so far covers the manga up to volume 7 (I think?), but the sequel starts at volume 10, so I guess they just might skip volumes 8 and 9.

No, what they'd most likely do is have Madarame lead a discusion of how some shows do recap episodes in order to start new seasons and that will become some sort of fourth wall breaking exposition show.

Or they could just do it cold with no sense of style or irony.

Either way, there are some things that have to get a mention. On one hand, I wanted Genshiken to get some new seasons and the new series is good enough and popular enough to rate it, on the other hand, this isn't the very much desired season three.

Really, I'm split on it.

AWESOME NEWS!!

I really hope they go back and cover Ogiue's past and the end of the first part of the manga though. That stuff was gold. There will be plenty of time to put Hato-kun front and center afterwards.

Fantastic, can't wait to see the results in a year or so. Hopefully we'll see some of the old cast members return as well.
