Well, there's no supernatural stuff shown in this video. Really curious to see how they will adapt this though.

I've seen some of the original manga ( Thank you Yen Press for bringing us another good series. ) and there's nothing supernatural per se going on with regard to the Zombies. It gets dark, really dark at times.

To be fair, 1) It's the only theme listed in the Encyclopedia and 2) It's "survive" and not "survived". Of course, that just makes wonder why it's not "attacks". Is this Attack on Titan English all over again?

It's one of the titles I'm looking forward to, though I haven't decided if I'd like it to be more like Shaun of the Dead or Peter Jackson's Braindead/Dead Alive in terms of coping and slice of life zombie with a dash of comedy flicks.

The former is more marketable, the latter is more "I haven't seen that in an anime before"ish.

Is that supposed to be playful humor? Zombies are the selling point of the show and every synopsis or introduction I've seen for it thus far has added that phrase... Rolling Eyes

My impression of this show so far has been that it is literally just going to be another "girls doing cute things" show with a zombie setting... that doesn't really excite me too much. Maybe we'll get lucky and it will end up being something like Higurashi! Laughing

But the trailers that are shown are pure joy and moe and slice of life as ifspoiler[ they're trying to sugarcoat the real setting of this show] which makes it more exciting and surprising. Well anyways what's there is there now to begin with just that spoiling the biggest twist is kinda disappointing.

I don't know that you can market a show like this without spoiling the twist, though. In a magazine, you might be able to run across a manga like this without any priming and get surprised by the misdirect, but anime adapted from an existing property?

Im not expecting this to be very faithful to be honest. With a whole company doing the scripts (Nitroplus, yes that means Gen Urobichi is involved) along with the original creator who also works at the company, and with it only having 4 volumes also.
I think we will get a much more darker, tragic and violent experience with this anime than the anime.
I wouldn't mind either way, once Lerche show me that they are a studio that can make great shows and great adaptations then i'm happy. They showed last season they can do great adaptations with Ass Class.

Yes the promo's do give that impression but as others have hinted spoiler[that's because that is the way one character manages to cope with the world around them by being delusional. In reality Higurashi is more like it. Shovel girl carries a shovel for a good reason and it is NOT for digging the garden!]

BTW the twist will probably be outed at the end of the first episode so it's not really an issue I think.

So great to see such misinformed posts!
- Nitroplus having their hand in this doesn't mean that Urobuchi is involved - he isn't working on everything that Nitroplus is publishing;
- Kaihou Norimitsu isn't working at Nitroplus - he's a freelance writer who was hired by the company to write this manga (as well as work on the anime);
- And other scriptwriters for this anime (who are also mostly freelancers) were also hired by Nitroplus to work on scripts. Having a company title in brackets near the name of a creator doesn't always mean that he's working at that company.
