It was very disappointing how Aksys had been teasing us for months with 4infinity.co and they couldn't even get the stream to work.
Getting to find out that ZE3 was announced by reading someone else's tweets and seeing a blurry announcement pic was very underwhelming.

Nevertheless, I am hyped as hell for this. I can't wait to get my grubby little hands on it. Zero Escape 2 is one of my favorite VNs of all time.

I'm bummed that I didn't get to see it live too, but I'm sure Aksys's staff are feeling much worse right now. All that buildup and then one lousy technical error messes with it. That being said, I'm ridiculously excited and can't wait for this.

I hear that the way it was announced was simply a splashscreen anyway, so not sure what you really missed :X

It actually had a bit of voice (Laura Bailey, to be specific. spoiler[Makes sense, since Luna was based on a woman who was present at the facility that ZE3 will be set at]), but she was just saying something from a message in VLR.

As I understood it, it was someone from the LACC/AX2015 itself messing up.

I'm hugely excited for this. Though I still actually have to play VLR first though. Enjoyed the hell out of 999.

Made my day to hear its officially announced! Been waiting and worrying for so long if it would finish the story and here it is. Like the series so much, I would be fine if it finished the story, but in such a way we can have a spin-off and start a new story.

damn finally i psyched to see what spoiler[sigma had to go through in order for him to lose his arms and eye, and who the 'woman' was that prompted him to sacrifice them]. I was afraid that this would remain in development hell but it looks like theyre slowly working on it, now all we need to see is more VN in general from japan on the vita and sales will skyrocket.

I'm crying right now.

Finally. Whatever the hell happened at that test site will all be revealed. All the questions of who the hell is Brother, what Radical-6 is and why spoiler[Junpei] became such a grumpy old man will all be answered. I can't wait for this shit to arrive.

Was Aksys's announcement the first news about this game? I don't recall hearing anything about a Japanese release, but I'd expect it to be announced over there first.

The first official news, yes. Uchikoshi had hinted at its existence late last year and a few times earlier this year, saying things such as "(2015) is when everything I've worked toward will come together" (paraphrasing) and adding things like "You-know-what" to his work list on Facebook.

VLR did not sell well in Japan (999, from what I've read, did decently, better than VLR), and it seemed to be dead. Fans from outside of Japan have been campaigning heavily for it for quite some time, and I remember mention in the past of how surprised Japanese devs were when they noticed just how much of a following it had in the west.

So it is honestly no surprise whatsoever that they announce it over here.

Still need to finish the second game, but glad to hear a third is happening, i wonder how much of a hand Aksys has in the development of this since it didn't sell well in Japan.
