Yuuki Kaji as Phoenix Wright...not sure how I feel about this. And also A-1 Pictures.
The time zone implies that it's at least a 2 cour though. |

April is going to be one good month for my anime watching. Quite a few things to look forward to already.
Hope Crunchyroll will be simulcasting the series. I'm looking forward to it, though I'm not entirely sure what to think of the voice cast yet. Bummer... Why was it Kaji as Naruhodo? It ought to be more mature than this girly's voice of a man. Like Toriumi's, Yuusa or even Narita...

Kosuke Toriumi actually voiced him in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3,but his established voice-actor from the games was Takayuki Kondo.Why not using him?hell,he's even reprising him in Project X Zone 2.Go figure... |

Hmm. I wouldn't have even minded to see Kamiya Hiroshi as Phoenix. I've watched a lot of stuff with Kamiya recently and he's an awesome voice actor.
I'm fairly happy with A-1 Pictures being the studio, though. While they're not great with action, they're pretty good when it comes to shows like this that are a lot of dialogue. |

WOW those voices don't fit, especially Kaji. I sniff agency politics. I was looking forward to the show, but I don't think I can take the screeching of both Aoi Yuki and Yuuki Kaji.

As much as I like Kaji Yuki, I don't know about him voicing Phoenix Wright though. Wright's design gives out the deep voice kind, and Kaji-kun's voice is far from what I would consider deep (If you think about the previous 2 VA he had). I wonder why they didn't just have Takayuki Kondo do it again. Kaji's voice would go great with someone like Apollo Justice, though I don't see Apollo on the list yet.
But, hey, he might just surprise us (mostly me) again. I was surprise with his low tone for Ayato from Tokyo Ghoul. He don't often get role where he get to use that kind of low tone. Let's see how he does it. (His scream is a dead giveaway to his cute voice though.) |

Absolutely unneeded cast change (and also very questionable choices), no Noriyuki Iwadare as a composer, series composition is done by a guy, who also was in charge of Blade & Soul and A-1 pictures can be really hit or miss.

*sigh* I have the odd feeling that whenever a new A-1 Pictures show comes out, Yuki Kaji is always close behind. (-__-
I wanted I.G. or BONES since the latter worked on the Prof. Layton vs. Phoenix Wright and the Duel Destinies animation but, perhaps they were too busy. Wonder if the series comes stateside, the American dub cast could be added. Miles VA is new so, hope he does a good job. |

Not really happy with Kaji but I've never heard him do an older voice other than Hermes from Arslan. Yuki I'm fine with.
It really wanted Sho Hayami as Edgeworth. C'est la vie. |

interesting how Edgeworth is voiced by a newcomer. I have no complaints with Gumshoe, Maya, and Mia, but Kaji as Phoenix intrigues me. He's definitely been getting away from his usual shonen hero shtick lately with guys like Sonic so it'll be interesting how he approaches the character.

I have a feeling if and when this show will get picked-up by an official streaming service, they might opt to use the Westernised versions of the names, which would be it quite irritating. Even more so than a character saying "senpai" but the subs will read that character's name (usually first name).
So it supposed to be written with a macron or without one?
