Saint Young Men Manga Has 'Important Announcement' in February

This year's March issue of Kodansha's Morning two magazine revealed on Monday that Hikaru Nakamura's Saint Young Men (Saint Onii-san) manga will have an "important announcement" in the magazine's next issue on February 22. The website for Morning two magazine also confirmed that a live-action drama adaption of the manga is still being planned.

The cover of the February 2017 issue of Morning two magazine confirmed in December 2016 that a live-action adaptation of the manga was in the works. Actor Takayuki Yamada is producing, and Yūichi Fukuda (HK/Hentai Kamen, Super Salaryman Mr. Saenai) will direct the project and pen the script.

Nakamura launched the manga in Morning two in 2006, and Kodansha shipped the manga's 14th compiled volume (pictured at right) on September 22. The manga imagines if Buddha and Jesus shared a low-rent Tokyo apartment.

The manga inspired an anime film that premiered in Japan in May 2013. The manga's eighth and ninth volumes both bundled original anime DVDs when they shipped in December 2012 and July 2013, respectively.
