Haikyu!! Boys Make Cameo in High School Study Booklet Commercials

posted on by Eric Stimson

Juggling the many aspects of high school life can be brutal. There's the classes themselves, extracurricular sports, hobbies, hanging out with your friends, dating, maybe even a part-time job. It's easy for your grades to start slipping amidst the bustle. That's the predicament the boys of Haikyu!!'s Karasuno High faced in season 2. One way they could've coped with it is with Shinken Zemi Kōkō Kōza (High School Lessons), a series of booklets from Benesse available to Japanese students that give them extra practice in difficult subjects.

As the commercials demonstrate, the booklets provide 90,000 questions on hard-to-grasp topics to make sure high school students understand concepts that could stump them on their next test. They even have video clips included to explain the concepts more clearly — just scan the QR codes with a smartphone. They're handy for taking on the school bus, which should help with time management. And of course, that means more time for volleyball practice.

There are a total of four commercials, although the others are shortened versions of the above two. For high school students interested in music, meanwhile, there are Vocaloid study guides that put a unique twist on studying history and science. Shinken Zemi Kōkō Kōza also has its own anime.
