Retailer Animate Offers Fate/Grand Order Halloween Illustration Cards

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

Following on the heels of Kaito Kid-cosplaying characters, Fate/Grand Order's characters stepped in line next to reveal their Halloween costumes. The Animate retail chain is partnering with the smartphone game to give away Halloween-themed illustration cards for its Fate Halloween festival promotion.

People who visit an Animate store between Halloween and November 26 will receive one campaign illustration card for each Fate franchise publication they purchase. The collaboration is offering 11 cards at random while supplies last. Robina, Akira Ishida, Mendori, Taskohna, Takenoko Seijin, Keikenchi, Tsubomi Hanabana, Hiroshi Hiroyama, TAa, and other illustrators contributed illustrations.

Aniplex released the Fate/Grand Order smartphone game in Japan in summer 2015. The game received an English release in the United States and Canada on June 25. The game surpassed 10 million downloads in Japan as of September 17.

The game already inspired a television anime, stage play, and two manga. The Fate/Grand Order VR feat. Mash Kyrielight PlayStation VR game will launch for free on December 6 on the PlayStation Store. Type-Moon is also working with Aniplex, Delight Works Inc., and Sega to launch the Fate/Grand Order Arcade game in Japanese arcades next year.
