Space Battleship Tiramisu, Magical Girl Ore Get Crossover Anime Video

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

Kaito Ishikawa stars in both the Uchū Senkan Tiramisu (Space Battleship Tiramisu) and Magical Girl Ore (Magical Girl Boy) television anime. The anime's staff decided it was time for a crossover promotional campaign, and a promotional video for the "Uchū Shōjo Oremisu" anime project began streaming on Monday.

The video begins when the true female version of Saki Uno (voiced by Ayaka Ōhashi) professes her love for Mohiro. Instead of transforming into the masculine Magical Girl Ore hero, Saki is somehow transported into the body of Subaru Ichinose, Space Battleship Tiramisu's main character. Subaru (Magical Girl Ore) has to go to the bathroom very badly, but he is stuck in a mecha space battle. He finally gets some relief, and Magical Girl Ore emerges from a restroom, leaving bewildered young women in his wake.

Ishikawa made new recordings for the video, which features his yells that show "patience like never before." The video teases "Uchū Shōjo Oremisu" as a new television anime program, but the announcement appears to be tongue-in-cheek.

To celebrate the release of the video, the official Twitter accounts for both anime are running a two-part campaign. For the first part, Twitter users have to retweet the campaign tweet to unlock collaboration smartphone wallpapers. Fans have already met the 500-retweet goal, and six campaign wallpapers are available for download on the anime's websites. For the second part of the Twitter campaign, fans have a chance to win one of four T-shirts signed by Ishikawa, with one design offered for each anime.

The Space Battleship Tiramisu anime premiered on April 2. Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs in Japan, and Funimation is streaming an English dub. The Magical Girl Ore anime premiered in Japan on April 2 on AT-X at 10:00 p.m, and on Tokyo MX the following day. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime worldwide except in Japan and Greater China. New episodes of Space Battleship Tiramisu premiere on Tokyo MX on Mondays at 25:00 (effectively Tuesdays at 1:00 a.m.), followed by new episodes of Magical Girl Ore at 25:40.
