GeGeGe no Kitarō's Ittan-momen Finds New Life as Fundoshi

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Fundoshi (traditional men's underwear) has its enthusiasts among men and women alike. Good Smile Company saw fans' desires after its April Fool's joke post in 2015 and created a variety of fundoshi for its Nendoroid line. Of course, these are much too small for actual humans. We would need something much longer, like Kitaro's cloth friend Ittan-momen (Rollo Cloth).

Bandai's Fashion Collection website is accepting pre-orders of the yokai fundoshi as part of GeGeGe no Kitarō's 50th anniversary. Just tie the yokai accordingly and let him flap around in the breeze.

Ittan-momen's new life as a fundoshi means he won't be flying his friends around anymore. In fact, I can't guarantee he'll cooperate if you attempt to wear him. The yōkai specifically hates being worn as a loincloth.

The fundoshi retails for 2,700 yen (US$24.50). Bandai expects to ship the items in May.
