Handead Anthem Project Brings the Undead EDM Beats

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

With the recent news that the undead idol comedy Zombie Land Saga will get a sequel, it was only a matter of time before we got more musical ghoul content. Enter the character project HANDEAD ANTHEM.

K4 Company's character music project has brought together male voice actors, popular illustrators, and EDM music to create four half-dead idol groups. Artists Kazuaki, Yomi Sarachi (Steins;Gate, Mermaid Boys manga), Nakahara, Home Run, and Ken designed the 16 characters. All of the characters are voiced by Shōhei Komatsu, Takuya Masumoto, Kento Hama, and Takeaki Masuyama.

The project's story details a world where humans were forced to work 15-hour workdays by a brainwashing dictator. These humans were called "Alivers" and they were miserable; unable to fulfill their hopes and dreams in their day to day life. Flash forward to the year "21XX." The only thing that can revive "Alivers" are the "Handead," half-dead and half-alive zombies of passion.

The organization "Dead & Alive" (DAA) is formed to gather only the best Handeads. The organization wants to revitalize the human race by transforming everyone into Handeads with the use of EDM (Electronic Dance Music). The genre has proved effective at reviving brainwashed Alivers. DAA founded branches in Hiroshima, Fukuoka, Kōchi, and Okinawa known collectively as the "D4".

The D4 groups are deva (Fukuoka), HIGH-TIDE (Okinawa), BUH (Hiroshima), and Yona (Kōchi).

More information about the project will be revealed at the HANDEAD ANTHEM event at the Yurakucho Yomiuri Hall in Tokyo on August 17
