Jujutsu Kaisen Compilation Film Earns US$2.5 Million in U.S. Screenings

GKIDS has acquired the anime and screened it in theaters in the United States on July 16 and 17. The film screened in subtitled and English-dubbed formats. The film earned US$1,344,162 to rank at #4 on July 16 and US$1,207,005 to rank at #5 on July 17.
Crunchyroll announced during the Annecy International Animation Film Festival it will also screen the film in select territories including France, Germany, the U.K., Latin America, and Australia this summer. Crunchyroll will screen the film in both Japanese with subtitles and dubbed formats. Release dates and other details will be announced in the future.
The film opened in Japan on May 30 and ranked at #4 in its opening weekend. The film sold 138,000 tickets and earned 198,332,500 yen (about US$1.36 million) in its first three days.
Tatsuya Kitani performed the film's theme song, an acoustic version of "Ao no Sumika," his opening theme song for the anime's second season.
The anime's second season premiered in July 2023 and aired for two cours (quarters of a year) for a continuous half-year run. The anime adapted both the "Hidden Inventory / Premature Death" ("Kaigyoku/Gyokusetsu") arc and the "Shibuya Incident" arc of the manga. Crunchyroll streamed the season as it aired in Japan, and is also streaming an English dub.
