The Hawaii Entertainment Expo (HEX) has announced that Final Fantasy games series composer Nobuo Uematsu, Vocaloid composer livetune, niconico singer Akiakane, voice actress and singer Megumi Nakajima, and voice actor Kazuki Yao will all be attending the October 19-21 convention.
Uematsu will perform with his new band Earthbound Papas at the convention. Earthbound Papas members include Uematsu on keyboard, Michio Okamiya on guitar, Yoshitaka Hirota on bass, Tsutomu Narita on keyboard and guitar, and Arata Hanyuda on drums. The group released their first album titled Octave Theory last year.
Actress and singer Megumi Nakajima is best known for voicing Macross Frontier's Ranka Lee. She's also performed the theme songs for both seasons of Lagrange - The Flower of Rin-ne and voiced the character Grania. She was tapped to lend her singing voice to the Vocaloid GUMI, the mascot character for Megpoid's singing synthesizer. She'll be playing the part of Altene "Lene" in this season's sci-fi doll series Busou Shinki.
Voice acting veteran Kazuki Yao has appeared more than 150 anime works. Some of his notable roles include One Piece's Franky and Mr. 2 Bon Clay, Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ's Judau Ashta, and Initial D's Kouichiro Iketani. He is currently starring in the Berserk trilogy films as Gaston.
Akiakane is a niconico cover singer best known for her rendition of Hatsune Miku's "Rolling Girl." She is joined by fellow niconico song composer livetune. Livetune originally consisted of members Kajuki P and kz, but Kajuki P left the group in 2008. Livetune has also contributed to the music in Oreimo, Digimon Xros Wars: Toki o Kakeru Shōnen Hunter-tachi, and Mahō Tsukai Nara Miso o Kue!. He is currently producing the theme for the Macross 30 video game.
The Hawaii Entertainment Expo runs from October 19-21 at the Aloha Tower in Honolulu.
