Collaboration project with NTV launches auditions for male voice actors

Talent agency Twin Planet announced on Wednesday that NTV and AKB48 producer Yasushi Akimoto are producing an original anime project titled Kimi dake ni Motetainda (I Want to be Popular Just to You). The project will also hold auditions for male voice actors and performers this summer, with more details on both the anime and the auditions to be announced at a later date. The project opened a website for audition applications.

The auditions are open to males above 11 years old that are unaffiliated with any other talent agency. The role will involve voice acting, singing, acting, modeling, and variety shows. Applications are open until May 18.

Akimoto founded the AKB48 idol group in 2005, and its sixth and latest domestic sister group, STU48, launched in summer 2017. Akimoto also founded AKB48's "official rival group" Nogizaka46.

Recently, Akimoto founded the 22/7 "dimension crossing" idol group. The group has released two singles (the most recent shipped on April 11), both with CG music videos. That project also has a planned anime, though the project did not mention whether the anime project refers to the group's CG music videos, or is a different project entirely.
