Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter Remake Game's Opening Movie Video Reveals Switch 2 Release, Demo

Switch 2 version has higher resolution/frame rate, shorter load times than Switch release

Nihon Falcom and GungHo Online Entertainment started streaming on Wednesday the opening movie for the Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter (Sora no Kiseki the 1st) game, the remake of the original The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky game, and it reveals that the game will get a version for Nintendo Switch 2. The trailer also confirms that a "Prologue" demo has launched for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam.

The Switch 2 version will have higher resolution and frame rate and shorter load times than the Nintendo Switch release. Customers who purchase the Switch version can upgrade to the Switch 2 edition for US$1.00.

A Switch demo will launch at a later date. Demo save data will carry over to the full release.

The game will launch simultaneously worldwide on September 19 for Switch, Switch 2, PS5, and PC via Steam.

The original version of The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky debuted in Japan for PC in 2004. The game later received releases on PlayStation Portable, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita.

XSEED Games localized and released The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky in 2011 for PlayStation Portable. The game inspired the The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky anime in 2011.

Publisher refint/games was scheduled to release Nihon Falcom's Ys vs. Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga crossover fighting game in summer 2025 for PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC, but it has delayed the release by "a few months."

NIS America released The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak II (The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki II -CRIMSON SiN-) game for Switch, PS4, PS5, and PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GOG in English on February 14. The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki II -CRIMSON SiN- launched for PS4 and PS5 in Japan in September 2022. The game debuted for Switch in Japan under the title The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki II for Nintendo Switch in July 2024.
