Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake Game's Trailer Previews New Features

New content includes sigils, scrolls, mini medals, ocean floor, memories

Square Enix streamed a trailer on Tuesday for the "HD-2D" remakes for Dragon Quest I & II. The video previews the remakes' new content, including more dungeons, sigils, scrolls, mini medals, the ocean floor, and the memories of the world:

The game collection will launch on October 30 for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Windows.

The game is available for pre-order, and a limited collector's edition is available for pre-order exclusively on the Square Enix store. Aside from the game's physical copy, the collector's edition includes a set of character and monster acrylic blocks, the Outstanding Outfit kit, two exclusive digital wallpapers, and another pre-order bonus.

The "HD-2D" remake of the Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation game launched for Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Windows in November 2024.

The "HD-2D" art style evokes sprite-based art, but with 3D backgrounds and dynamic lighting and effects, similar in style to Square Enix's earlier Octopath Traveler game.

Enix/Square Enix have ported the first three games in the series to multiple platforms, including the Super Famicom, Game Boy Color, Wii, and smartphones. The first three Dragon Quest games launched on Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation 4 in Japan in August 2017, and got releases on Switch in September 2019 worldwide.

Dragon Quest VII Reimagined, a remake of the 2000 Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past PS1 game, will launch on February 5 for Switch 2, Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store on Windows.
