Bandai Namco Entertainment announced on Wednesday that it will shut down its Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs multiplayer battle royale game on December 31, delisting the game from platforms where it is currently available on November 1.

The game is a 64-player battle royale. It also features custom matchmaking with a friend system, ranked mode, and global leaderboards.

The game was initially released as Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle on the Google Stadia in 2020, and became unavailable after Stadia ended service in January 2023. Bandai Namco Entertainment then re-released the game on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam in May 2024 with the title Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs.

Nintendo ended service of Bandai Namco Entertainment and Arika's Pac-Man 99 online multiplayer Switch game in October 2023. The game launched in April 2021 as a free game for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. Arika developed the game, in which 99 players compete to be the last one standing in a new version of the Pac-Man game. Players can send Jammer Pac-Man to opponents by eating Power Pellets and ghosts.

Bandai Namco Entertainment's Pac-Man game franchise debuted with its original arcade game in 1980. The franchise inspired the Pac-World television anime series in 2013.

Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac, a remake of the original Pac-Man World 2 game, launched for Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam on September 26.

Shadow Labyrinth, a reimagining of Bandai Namco Entertainment's Pac-Man game, launched on July 18 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC via Steam.

The Secret Level adult animated anthology series from the LOVE, DEATH + ROBOTS creative team previously debuted a Pac-Man episode last December that showed a reimagining similar to Shadow Labyrinth.
