(September 24, 2025 – New York, NY) The Town Hall (Matt Goldman, Executive Director; Melay Araya, Artistic Director) and Crunchyroll announced today details for Tokyo Ghoul 10th Anniversary Concert. Featuring The Sinfonietta, led by Macy Schmidt, the evening will take place at The Town Hall (123 West 43rd Street, New York, NY) on Tuesday October 7, 2025 at 8pm.
Ten years ago, the Tokyo Ghoul anime launched the story of Ken Kaneki into global pop consciousness. Following the blockbuster success of Sui Ishida's Tokyo Ghoul manga, the anime series brought the darkly philosophical story of Kaneki to a wider audience. Starting from its first episode, the music of Tokyo Ghoul proved to be intrinsic to the world-building of an alternate universe where humans and ghouls co-exist, albeit violently. Composer Yutaka Yamada's lush, sweeping ballads and ominously percussive score have made the Tokyo Ghoul soundtrack one of the most influential anime recordings of the last decade.
Join The Sinfonietta, an acclaimed all-woman and majority women-of-color orchestra founded and led by conductor Macy Schmidt, in a full concert of the most beloved tracks from Tokyo Ghoul with new orchestral arrangements and selected clips from the series.
"The Sinfonietta is proud to be at the forefront of bringing live score performances of beloved anime to the concert hall,” said Macy Schmidt. As an all-women orchestra in residence at The Town Hall, we're especially excited to share Tokyo Ghoul with New York's vibrant anime community and continue building bridges between symphonic music and the stories that inspire fans around the world."
Melay Araya added, “As Town Hall continues to present compelling music across genres and mediums, we are overjoyed to be working with Crunchyroll again on such a fan favorite anime.”
The Town Hall and Crunchyroll have also developed special, event-specific merch that will only be on sale for one day, in-person at The Town Hall. Merchandise is available for purchase by the live show's attendees.
Tokyo Ghoul is part of the 2025-2026 Season of The Town Hall Presents, celebrating Black Brilliance, Queer Icons, Girlhood, Animated Splendor, and Spiritual Inspirations.
