Pony Canyon announced on Sunday that  Hekiru Hikawa's  Hanaori-san Wants to Have a Fight Even If She Reincarnates (Hanaori-san wa Tensei Shitemo Kenka ga Shitai) manga is inspiring a television anime which will debut in 2026. The company also revealed a teaser visual and listed the anime's English title as Hanaori-san Still Wants to Fight in the Next Life.

Pony Canyon describes the story:

The story follows Ryūsei Narukami, a shut-in who spends his days playing games, but who had once been a Demon King in another world. It also follows Meteor Hanaori, the former hero who defeated him and is now a high school girl. This romantic comedy between a former Demon King and a former Hero is now set to be brought to life as an anime.

Pony Canyon also revealed manga creator Hikawa's comment regarding the anime adaptation:

"When I first heard that Hanaori-san was going to be turned into an anime, I thought it was a dream—I couldn't tell it apart from the reality my stress had shown me. It seems that it really is being adapted.

As the author, I am fortunate to be involved in the anime production at such a wonderful distance, and they are creating an anime that preserves the original atmosphere while being fun, amazing, and stylish—so maybe it really is a dream.

Let's meet in a dream, everyone."

Hikawa launched the manga in Kodansha's Morning two magazine in August 2021. Kodansha published the manga's first compiled book volume in February 2022, and will release the eighth volume on Monday.

Hikawa published the Pani Poni manga in Square Enix's Monthly G Fantasy magazine from 2000 to 2011.

In 2005, the anime studios GANSIS and SHAFT produced the 26-episode Pani Poni Dash! series based on the manga. ADV Films (and later Funimation) released the anime in North America.

Hikawa also created the original character designs for the Concrete Revolutio television anime series and the Concrete Revolutio: The Last Song sequel anime series.
