Disney+/Hulu to Raise Monthly Pricing on Streaming Plans in U.S.
posted on by Anita Tai

Entertainment news website The Hollywood Reporter reported on Tuesday that Disney+ is planning to raise the price for monthly subscriptions to its streaming platform beginning on October 21. The price for the subscription tier with ads will increase from US$9.99 to US$11.99, and the price for the ad-free tier will increase from US$15.99 to US$18.99.
The price for the Disney+ and Hulu bundle will also rise from US$10.99 to US$12.99, while the Disney+, Hulu and ESPN Select Bundle will rise from US$16.99 to US$19.99. The Disney+, Hulu, ESPN Select Bundle Premium bundle will raise its price from US$26.99 to US$29.99. A Hulu subscription with ads will also rise from US$9.99 to US$11.99, although the ad-free tier will remain at US$18.99.
The streamer raised its price in October 2024. Disney+ previously raised its prices and revealed plans to restrict password sharing for accounts in October 2023.
Disney+ announced in August that it is "fully integrating" the Hulu streaming service, along with a new singular app with both Disney+ and Hulu services, which will launch in 2026.
The subscription services will remain standalone, but both Disney+ and Hulu will be accessible from the unified app. Disney already offers bundles including both Disney+ and Hulu. In addition, a significant amount of content, including anime, from the Hulu library already streams on the Disney+ for subscribers of both.
Disney owns 100% of Hulu, after acquiring Comcast's 33% stake in Hulu for US$8.61 billion in 2023.
Before Disney acquired the entirety of Hulu, anime that streamed on Disney+ internationally would stream in the U.S. on Hulu instead. Currently, anime still stream on Hulu, but now also stream on Disney+ for subscribers of both services.
