Twin Star Exorcists Adds Cast for Anime-Original Arc

Yūki Wakai, Hitomi Sasaki play new characters for arc beginning on Wednesday

The official website for the Twin Star Exorcists anime announced two new characters and cast members for its anime-original "Rettō Ha Ran-hen" (Archipelago Battle for Supremacy Arc), which will begin with this Wednesday's episode 21. The new anime-original characters are:

Yūki Wakai as Suzu, a philosopher-like Basara with an interest in the feelings and actions of modern humans.

Hitomi Sasaki as Sae, a girl Rokuro and the others find during a catastrophe and take into their care. She stays with Rokuro and Benio and calls Rokuro "Papa."

The website previously announced the cast for the "Jūni Tenshō" (Twelve Heavenly Commanders), the most powerful group of exorcists. The cast members are (from left to right in the image below):

Twin Star Exorcists premiered in Japan on TV Tokyo on April 6, and also airs on TV Osaka, TV Aichi, TV Hokkaido, TV Setouchi, and TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting.

Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs, and also plans to release the series on Blu-ray and DVD with an English dub.

Tomohisa Taguchi (Persona 4 the Golden Animation, Persona 3 the Movie #2 Midsummer Knight's Dream, Persona 3 the Movie #4 Winter of Rebirth) is directing the series at Studio Pierrot (Naruto Shippūden, Tokyo Ghoul, Yona of the Dawn). Shishō Igarashi (Unlimited Psychic Squad director) is serving as assistant director, Naruhisa Arakawa (MAOYU, Outbreak Company, Kingdom) is handling the series composition, Kikuko Sadakata (Corpse Princess, Muromi-san, Devils and Realist) designed the characters, and Itsuko Takeda (Level E, Kingdom) is the chief animation director. Wagakki Band is performing the anime's current opening theme song "Valkyrie -Ikusa Otome-" (Valkyrie -War Maiden-). Hitomi Kaji is performing the ending theme song "Eyes."
