Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero Game's Switch/Switch 2 Versions Explore New Motion Controls, System Differences in Trailer

Switch, Switch 2 Editions launch on November 14

Nintendo of America streamed a new trailer for Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, the new game in the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi arena fighter franchise, on Tuesday explaining the systems for the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 editions, including new motion controls, returning modes, and differences between versions.

The game will launch for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch on November 14.

The Switch and Switch 2 versions will have Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate Editions. The company will release season pass content at a later date.

Customers who purchase the Switch version can upgrade to Switch 2 for improved visuals. They can transfer their progression data and unlocked items, but not custom battle data, online records, and battle replays. Players on Switch 2 can battle offline or online against others playing on Switch 2. However, they cannot play with others who are playing on the original Switch system.

The game launched in October 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. The game has a Premium Collector's Edition, a Deluxe Edition, and an Ultimate Edition. These editions allowed customers to play the game three days early.

The first DLC pack "Hero of Justice" launched on January 23 with 11 characters: Gamma 1, Gamma 2, Cell Max, various forms of Piccolo including Orange Piccolo, and various forms of Gohan including Beast Gohan. The DLC will also include a Red Ribbon Army costume for Piccolo and three custom battles.

The first of two DLC packs themed after the new Dragon Ball Daima anime launched on April 24. The DLC added Vegeta (Mini) in base/Super Saiyan 1-3 forms, Glorio, Super Saiyan Goku (Mini), Majin Kuu, and Panzy. There is also a new costume for Goku (Mini) that enables Aura Impact and the ability to transform to Super Saiyan.

The game added Shallot - an original character that was designed by Akira Toriyama for the 2018 Dragon Ball Legends smartphone game - on June 26.
