This is Stu Levy we are talking about here, so really it doesn't really surprise me in the least. |
I was trying to avoid that angle for once. He's crazy stupid, not plain stupid. |
Actually I wasn't trying to learn towards that angle for once as well. I agree with what you said though.

Pretty sure you could find that either on Amazon.com, Rightstuff.com, Ebay or Craigs List. Maybe Barns And Noble still caries that particular volume.
I don't know about you, but it would probably it probably cost more (if you don't live in L.A) to fly to the L.A. and then drive to the exact location than it would be to just bought the manga online. I know for a fact that plane tickets aren't cheap and neither are cabs/buses and hotel rooms.
There is tons of other retailers if for some reason Amazon, Ebay, Rightstuff or Craigs List doesn't have the book, but then have to ask yourself, is it really worth all the effort of obtaining a potentially out of production book that may even be sold at a comic book shop (Atomic Comics for example.)
But then again it took me a a long time to complete Dr. Slump, so it all depends on how much effort your willing to put into acquiring the book. It could take either a couple of minutes or a year and a half like my situation of finding the final two volumes of Dr. Slump.
I wonder though, what is going to happen with the items that don't sell. I wonder what happens to them. If I had to guess, I guess they might be donated to charity, but considering that might take some considerable amount of work, there really is no way of telling.
Or maybe someone (not sure who) will just sell them all online or something. Of course the shipping most likely won't be cheap, but not much can be done about that I guess.

I've already exhausted those options:, Ebay = none. B&N = none (my friend works there and couldn't locate any in stock throughout the company). Amazon = not practical (selling for around $200). Retailers like RS are definitely out of stock. This volume had a short print run or something :/

Have you tried going to Book Off? Or calling one? Best bet is finding smaller retailers and used book stores that carry manga and see if they have what you're looking for. Good luck!

Sale was awesome. They let the people who were waiting in line early (my group got there at 7AM after a 9 hour drive) and the prices were insane. I bought the entire room of Japanese manga (starting at 4:30 in the video) for $50 and they are letting me come back next weekend to pick it up.
