Very unfortunate that this had to happen again. I hope she gets well soon and come back at 110%.

It seems that the multiple concerts have taken a toll... Here's hoping Eir Aoi makes a quick full recovery.

I don't know how any singer does it. Singing at different venues and traveling for weeks on end sound utterly exhausting. Take care of your vocal cords and get well soon!

I actually saw this singer live last year, as part of a special cultural event. The volume was excessive to the point that I needed to vacate the area, and I recognised none of her songs, though my friends were utterly entranced by her presence. Gold coins to a cat, as they say...

Man I hope it isn't too serious, but the fact that she had to cancel an event all the way in January of next year makes me worried about how bad it is.

Concerts & other events with live music (like weddings) are sometimes so loud they can damage an adult's hearing permanently. It's a good idea to bring earplugs or headphones if you're sensitive. They even make special noise canceling headphones for babies, so their parents can bring them to weddings or concerts and not damage their ears!
I'm surprised you didn't know any of her songs, she's done a wide variety of OPs & EDs. Have you not watched any of those shows, or perhaps you tend to skip OPs & EDs in general?

Quite so. There was a period of several years during which I watched no anime. That said, I could tell from my friends' almost transfigured reactions that it was a special moment for them. The opening bars of each song ushered quite a roar from the audience, not that such a sound was audible in the venue.
