good lord Dusky, surely you can comment on this show without summarizing the entire episode.

I will try, but it just turns out that I want to bring up things in the episode, which turns into a summarization. maybe I have left out..... I can't do it.

I actually really enjoy going back through an episode as I sometimes notice things that I did not the first time, like the shapes of the clouds. Seriously, is anyone but myself surprised in what they managed to sneak in? or is it just my dirty thoughts?

there wasn't any security to stop them, so yes, you are probably the only one surprised. Neptune constantly breaks the fourth wall and considering how self aware this show is, I think you are thinking too much

Ep9-

That was a pretty good episode and the inclusion of spoiler[R-18 Island and a "PC" faction focusing on porn as the location of Eden was a nice little remix. Although having Yellow Heart represent PC gaming (from a japanese standpoint that means eroge) kind of makes Peashy's visual tells redundant.]

For those who don't know (game spoilers) spoiler[there's a PC continent but it has no identity or goddess. Eden is located north of Planeptune and west of Lowee and is just an empty space for much of the time until it becomes the PC-Engine (Peashy) continent. In fact, it's location becomes extremely important later on in relation to the true antagonist.]

One thing that bummed me a bit here is that the fight scenes are fairly crappy. We know David is a studio that can handle decent fight scenes so I'm kind of sad the big throwdown didn't involve much more than off-camera single strike attacks. Especially since the source material puts such a focus on combo hits. Oh, well. Hopefully that will come out at the end.

I am however really glad that they didn't drag out the spoiler["who is yellow heart"] thing. It means they'll likely have time to get to my favourite arc.

Episode 9 was alright. I can't believe that spoiler[robot with the creepy obsession towards Noire] is back again though. It turns out Noire was only speaking to his spoiler[body double] previously. Damn.

As far as Plutia goes, whoa that is some temper there.

Also, spoiler[Yellow Heart] made her debut and I think she has some pretty good moves. I kinda knew who she was though even before her transformation wore off. Ah, this is getting more serious now. I have to say this villain is definitely more threatening than compared to that witch earlier.

Interesting bit of history regarding spoiler[Yellow Heart - Before the game came out in Japan the most likely candidate for her civilian persona was actually Abnes because Peashy was still just a nameless silhouette. Once Peashy was revealed with a name and appearance people put 2 and 2 together and the world simutaneously agreed it was totally her. But for a short time everyone was fooled.]

Episode 9

I kind of figured out straight away that spoiler[Yellow Heart was P-KO. The childish personality, blonde hair and the villain seen experimenting on her kind of giving it away]. Also I accidentally saw a hint about spoiler[Peashy having big boobs].

Why does Plutia have to be so cool, that she is not at all as fluffy as she looks and was willing to spoiler[fight Neptune] to get her to own up to her feelings. And her rightfully getting pissed and doing things to change it is makes her fun to watch.

@ Bango
Wait.... all of a sudden her name is obvious, how did I not figure out already, her name basically being "spoiler[Personal Computer]", or the her nickname is pretty much the shortened being the shortened version; spoiler[PC]. So obvious in hindsight. Maybe also why she has been spoiler[hanging around Sega and looks like a sonic character, I know through school that Sonic was pretty common to play on school PCs].

An anime filled with fanservice that it obviously uses to sell has made spoiler[adult games the villain]. Well it is softcore maybe, and the breast jokes have been more tolerable than some other series. Vert's anxiety over this week's was funny.

Also return of the outtake after the ED.

Spoiler for big explanation of Peashy but it doesn't actually spoil anything not already covered in ep9-
spoiler[Her appearance is actually referencing Hudson, a game company that was strong on NEC systems and early japanese PCs but was absorbed by Konami a short time ago. The game notes that her headbutts are brutal (The hero of Hudson's "Bonk's Adventure" would headbutted everything) and even the eggplant stuff worked in an Adventure Island gag (the hero of those games was fatally cursed by eggplants). Her "core" parts for her HDD form are also all references to NEC systems. Also note that while the western name was the Turbographic 16, the japanese name was the PC Engine. Peashy is a lucky character to have for the anime because she can be near-seamlessly converted into a japanese PC gaming personification. I'd appreciate an All-Ages vs. R-18 storyline because the first two games got a bit heavy-handed with their anti-piracy story. This is a pleasant change.]

I dig the Neptune series so much because, while personifications and rebuilds of history art a dime a dozen in anime nowadays, it's actually pretty smart about it rather than just constantly referencing stuff for comedy's sake and otaku approval (although it does that too)

Ep 10 spoiler[It was nice that there was a decently made bout between Nepgear vs Yellow Heart (at least as far as fighting sequences have been concerned for THIS series), but certainly the best part is of course was an UNTRANSFORMED Neptune taking all the hits in a vain attempt to get PC to remember who she was all the while Neptune being pummeled by her Yellow Heart form.
Certainly this series is never meant to be some sort of sophisticated piece of media, but if you had been even slightly invested you had to feel sympathy for the adult child of Neptune saying her sad goodbye to P-ko even though that certainly isn't how she had wanted to say farewell.
That said, the "alternate take" comic piece was probably the best one in the series so far, lol.]

Ep10 -

Wow. That was actually a little tear-jerking. While the fights are nothing worth mentioning they are likely the best in the show so far. While spoiler[5pb] gets some love in the intro I'll be amazed if she even shows up again for more than a brief moment. The show just has a really low bar for them I guess. Though the reverse transformation seemed pretty smooth.

Also the spoiler[new OP] wasn't bad and the spoiler[new ED] was touching. They totally fit the episode.

Next up should be either something original or my favourite arc of the game remixed. I'm really looking forward to it.

For those wondering about the outtake this episode yes that thing's in the game. Plutia can equip it. (I'm gonna say there's spoilers for the game here spoiler[http://youtu.be/B356285hQVk?t=1m45s]

EDIT: Actually I'll extend that spoiler warning farther. Don't look at the recommended videos on that one (if they're the same as mine were).

Episode 10

I had to comment on how the episode went, but the bit at the end was able to make me able to start from the beginning. For one, the opening was great, and I actually really liked the first one, which I would say is my favourite opening of the season. I had to keep pausing as there were plenty of nice bits that just go by in a flash, like Vert spoiler[having a Nepger hugpillow]. Up to now the opening had in general been cool, but this one focused on the characters.

Next onto Plutia, my continued favourite character on the show, she spoiler[makes Neptune face the situation with recommending laziness, convincing her like she was not doing anything]. And then after that shespoiler[ nonchalantly goes to Noire, which where the villain is pretty much takes him out herself]. Very Happy

And then there is the Neptune Neptuna and Peashy P-ko, I like a good spoiler["I won't fight you" fight, and seeing Neptune take all of Peashy's attacks as were hearing Peashy's desperate please of denial]. I started tear up a bit with spoiler[almost remembering bits, and that she could not get her memory back, but then she suddenly remembered just before leaving]. *manly tears*

To tell the truth I did not really have any strong feelings towards characters at the beginning, but this series seems to have had a way of making me like them. Plutia and Peashy were actually among my least favourites from introduction, but the show did a great job of switching things by expanding Plutia, and having me really care for Peashy. They did a great job of making me spoiler[sad over Peashy's goodbye, that lasted through the ED that was cute for the CGI plushie like forms that were otherwise uninteresting, and into Neptune sadly looking at a picture], a good presentation. And then totally changed my mood into spoiler[laughing with the outtake bit of Plutia giving Nepgear some sort of creepy robot like version Nepgear]. Laughing Good work Hyperdimension Neptunia the Animation, I will remember you for being able to do that.

I genuinely enjoyed this episode.

Whoa, episode 10 was a bit tear-jerking indeed. Well, I guess I'm talking about spoiler[Neptune and her determination to restore P-Ko back to who she was]. The action was okay I guess. Noire was kicking as usual along with Plutia.

I was somewhat surprised at the spoiler[new OP song's animation sequence]. I'm not sure why did that actually. But anyways, this is probably my favorite episode of the series so far. At the spoiler[end of the episode, I think P-Ko regained her memories.]

How the hell do you use that toilet? It's literally right against a corner. You'd need to be so thin at the shoulders you'd be equal to or less than the width of the toilet. Planeptune prisons are freakin' evil. Though it does make you wonder what crimes get committed to land people in jail there.

If fans of White Heart's ass are quick on the pause button they can get a nice treat this episode. Also lol at the off-colour Sonic running with the armload of rings. When spoiler[Abnes returned and talked about a gathering of little girls I was so expecting Trick to pop back up.] LOL. Kind of glad he didn't. It feels like so long ago when they dealt with him.

By the way this was the villain I was talking about that I was hoping they would include in the anime. spoiler[The megalomaniac dictator Atari representation.] and I must say that I like her anime look even more. The game's version had this stupid looking armoured eyepatch thingy.

She wasn't super difficult but she would regen about 25k per turn and she'd get more turns than most of your characters because they'd kind of pile up. She'd miss a lot but she did several status ailments with each hit so you spent a lot of your time just recovering. Also she was human-sized, meaning if you wanted everyone to be in range to hit her they'd also need to be within her AoE of smiting range. It was a solid final boss for such a game if you consider today's lax difficulty standards.

Episode 11

Blanc sure had no spoiler[trust in her friend], she really thought that Neptune would spoiler[be crafty enough to do that]. Makes me lose respect for the character, it was made pretty clear that Neptune never spoiler[cared about Shares as much as having fun, and none of her friends can be happy for her]. She even tries to spread the fun and just gets treated like she is being full of herself, didn't she do things with her friends while they were doing well and she wasn't?

I did not realize before now that Rei was voiced by Kobayashi Yuu, now I can hear it. And so spoiler[she is Atari], I wonder if the mention of Lowee being an spoiler[old nation was reference to Nintendo and any connections to Atari]. Also Sega and spoiler[Atari kind of both lost in the console market].

And lol at someone is some kind of spoiler[Sonic costume] dropping spoiler[rings when they hit something]. And was that end bit a reference to new next gen consoles coming really soon?
