We heard from Crunchymation's physical media division this week. They have decided to do what I predicted a year ago and finally move their physical media master distribution to SPHE (Sony Pictures Home Entertainment) over the course of March and April. This is why their Q1 new release schedule is currently so thin as they didn't want a lot of release overhead during the transition. I think the last title we will get from them under their legacy Funimation distribution regime will be Suzume and The Legendary Hero Is Dead. They seem to have the schedule for the transfer setup pretty tight though, but having been through this sorta thing many times over the years, I would expect there will be some short term supply chain interruptions for some Crunchymation releases during the months of March and April. |

No that’s what I’m talking about! 17 releases in May. 2 are limited editions and 1 is a One Piece Colletion. If they do this every month they could release the back catalogue faster. Good job Crunchyroll. Just keep it up is all I ask!

Guessing the large release slate is to make up for skipping April. Far as what may have my interest for this, eyeing Dead Mount Death Play and My Home Hero.

I'm quite happy see Dr. STONE S3 getting listed, with my guess that the 2nd half will have an LE to match the previous two seasons. But it doesn't appear that the OVA is a part of the set. I have to wager there's a whole different license agreement for that, but man... that will suck very much if the OVA never gets a physical release. Especially since it's a pivotal piece of plot that connects S2 and S3 together. Unless they put it as part of the 2nd half, but since it would take place before the start of S3, I have my doubts...

What's with the random Blu-Ray/ DVD combo set for Tomo-chan is a Girl? I thought that treatment was largely with anime film releases nowadays.
