Wait, how can you play "f***-marry-kill" with skeletons? They're already dead!

Anyway yes, echoing what other people said, this column definitely needs to go for no-holds-barred absurd nonsense more often.

Don't you know that, you're a skeleton too? The difference is just you're fully covered with thick meat, that's all.

And as Ray Bradbury pointed out, we brush our teeth because they're the only bit of our skeleton that show. Very Happy

(And gee, you'd think Yankee Doodle Pigeon would have tried to tie in some joke about the old "Skeleton Warriors" cartoon from the 80's:

You did not list Death from Soul Eater as #1 and therefor you fail.

Was Death a skeleton? I thought his skull face was a mask while his true form was left as some shadowy mystery.

Hard to tell. Kid the Death is very fleshy. But the Grim Reaper has always been depicted as a skeleton in a robe, and there is no reason to suppose differently without evidence. It is a magical place, and not even attempting to be realistic. In Terry Pratchett's Hogfather the Grim Reaper is indeed a skeleton but his granddaughter is quite (meta)human.

Just in case people were wondering, I went looking for about a minute and a half, and there is skeleton porn and Hentai out there. Really. It is a thing.

I could have sworn you see him briefly remove the mask at one point in the manga. You don't really see his face, but you do see his smile, and he appeared to be human. That being said, I couldn't find the panel I was thinking of, so it's entirely possible I'm mis-remembering it (it's been a few years since I read the manga).

Love the list. Would maybe recommend Elias to someone more in his age range. Chise needs to get the hell out of that house, though! spoiler[glad she got into college!]

THIS is the quality content I go online for.

If the list wasn't limited to anime skeletons, I'd throw Sans/Papyrus (Undertale) and Lewis (Mystery Skulls) on there.

Sans and Papyrus are awesome. Especially Sans and his love for the right kind of dumb jokes.

Come to think of it, are there any FEMALE skeleton characters in anime or otherwise? Because I would like to propose a gender-reversed list to accompany this one. You ladies (or gay men) shouldn't be the only ones who are allowed to revel in the "bonable bones" list fun. (Though, sadly, I can't really recall there being even one single female skeleton character in anything I've ever watched.)

I would image the dearth of female skeletal characters has to do with the lack of breasts, and the popularity of that feature on female characters, although Google tells me there are a few minor ones, such as Dokura Skull from The World God Only Knows and Eliza from Shaman King.

Well, it's not like that thought didn't occur to me -- in fact, that's the very reason a list like this would be even more funny than the male one; I still find the idea of recognizing a skeletal character as female despite the lack of visible breasts or a butt -- or hair -- still amusing enough that a list should technically be possible.... if we had enough characters to go around, that is.

I have a more sociological theory of why such character are either on the comical side (Dokuro Skull) or have beautiful flash bodies (or overlapping images) like Wiz from Konosuba or Skeleton from Plus-Sized elf. Maybe it is the global village we nowadays live or maybe it is part of the collective unconscious, but I think we associate at a very primal level a female skeleton to death itself and if you are thinking of Marvel's Thanos mistress that would be part of it, but I mean something more 3D:
