Returning cast includes Natsumi Ishibashi, Atom Mizuishi, Yukijirō Hotaru

The official website for the Garo: Gekkō no Tabibito (Garo: Moonbow Traveler) live-action film revealed more cast and the fall premiere on Friday.

As previously announced, Masei Nakayama will star as Raiga Saejima.

The cast members, who are all reprising their roles from the 2014 Garo: Makai no Hana television series, also include:

Natsumi Ishibashi as Mayuri

Atom Mizuishi as Crow

Yukijirō Hotaru as Gonza

Director and scriptwriter Keita Amemiya said during a special program in November that filming had already wrapped for the film, and he was hoping to see it released this spring or summer. Amemiya also announced that a new Garo project is in development, but he said it is not confirmed whether the project will be film or television.

The first 25-episode live-action Garo series premiered in October 2005 and has spawned multiple live-action films and television series. The live-action Kaminokiba -JINGA- series, the newest television series in the franchise, premiered in October.

Section23 Films' Kraken Releasing brand announced in October 2016 that it has licensed the original live-action Garo series. The company released the first 13 episodes on Blu-ray Disc in October 2017, and it has since released various installments in the franchise. HIDIVE began streaming the original series in June 2017.

The Garo the Animation, Garo: Crimson Moon, and Garo -Vanishing Line- television anime aired in 2014, 2015, and 2017, respectively. Funimation streamed the first two series and released them on home video. Crunchyroll streamed Garo -Vanishing Line- with English subtitles as it aired, and Funimation streamed the English dub. Garo: Divine Flame, a film sequel to Garo the Animation, opened in Japan in May 2016. Garo: Crimson Moon also got an anime film that opened in October.
