posted on by Ken Iikura-Gross
The Evangelion franchise's website announced on Monday that it will mark the anime's 30th anniversary with a new radio program airing between October 4, 2025, and March 2026 on Tokyo FM and 37 other FM stations in Japan. FM EVA 30.0 will air on Saturday nights at 10:30 p.m. (9:30 a.m. EDT), and a podcast version of the program will exclusively stream on Amazon Music starting every Wednesday at noon (Tuesday at 11:00 p.m. EDT).

The radio show's October 4 premiere date is also the 30th anniversary of the television anime's premiere on October 4, 1995. “The Cruel Angel's Thesis” theme song's singer Yoko Takahashi will be the first guest. The program is set to feature creators, cast members, and singers involved in the production of the Evangelion franchise, and it will also invite “musical artists who are avid fans of the franchise to share their own experiences with Evangelion.”
The program's announcement features an original illustration (pictured above) of the Evangelion Unit-01 by the Tokyo Tower at night. (The landmark of the Tokyo skyline also hosts Tokyo FM's main antenna.)
FM EVA 30.0 also marks the 55th anniversary for Tokyo FM (this past April). As of press time, FM EVA 30.0 has not announced its regular host.
