posted on by Joanna Cayanan
Animation ID announced in a new teaser video the opening theme song for the "light anime" adaptation of Akira Iwafune's Potion, Waga Mi o Tasukeru (Potions Will Save Me) novel series on Wednesday. The video reveals and previews the cover of Scanch's original song "Koi no Magic Potion" (Love's Magic Potion) by rock band TRiDENT. TRiDENT will also perform the anime's ending theme song "MIRACRAID."

The series will debut on October 2 on Tokyo MX at 25:00 JST (effectively, October 6 at 1:00 a.m. JST).
The anime's cast includes:
- Kaede Hondo as protagonist Kaede
- Takeo Ōtsuka as dragon hunter Asuru
- Yū Kobayashi as the female wolf Cardeno
- Miharu Hanai as the fairy Nina
- Yurika Moriyama as the dragon hunters' leader Rei
A "light anime" features a simpler animation style that reduces production time and costs. Other "light anime" Animation ID has produced include Lockdown Zone: Level X, Maarui Kanojo to Zannen na Kareshi, Moriarty's Perfect Crime, and With Vengeance, Sincerely, Your Broken Saintess.
Mikiko Furukawa (Moriarty's Perfect Crime) is directing the anime at IMAGICA Infos and Imageworks Studio. Studio KAIBA is credited for animation assistance. Yūichi Imaizumi is the sound director. bermei.inazawa is composing the music. Kazuya Takahashi is credited for production supervision.
The story centers on Kaede, a normal high school girl who suddenly finds herself reincarnated into a fantasy world full of beastkin, elves, and dragons. She spends an entire day walking to try and find her way in this new world, and rummages through her bag, where she finds a mysterious book. As it turns out, the book allows her to craft potions simply by gathering the necessary materials and chanting "Create." Kaede then plans to use this power to make her way through her new world, and get back to Japan somehow.
Iwafune serialized the story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website from April 2014 to September 2024. Shufunotomo published the first print novel volume of the story in April 2015 with illustrations by Yoshi Tobe. The 10th volume shipped in September 2024.
Tobe launched a manga adaptation of the novels on Shufunotomo's Hero Comics website in September 2023, where it currently has 15 chapters.
