By final episodes, do they mean just for this season? Because knowing Pokemon, it's obviously going to get another season or continuation.

It's most likely for the season. Most Pokemon seasons are 48 episodes, so this is the end of season 1.

Yes, the English seasons are split about every four cours or so.
They're still going to do more since it's still running in Japan, but it'll be back under a new season title.

I hope this isn't the final of the this pokemon for netflix. The anime doesn't look like its ending anytime soon so I dont know why netflix would stop here. If they do then my nephews are gonna real disappointed.

"Pokemon Journeys" is just the dub name for the 48 episodes of Pocket Monsters (2019) that have been dubbed so far. The dub tends to name all its "seasons" different things, so this is probably the end of "Pokemon Journeys", and you'll see a "new series" premiering in a couple months called "Pokemon Continued Journeys" or "Pokemon Journeys Onward" or something else, which will start with an English dub of episode 49.
These "final episodes of Pokemon Journeys" aired long ago in Japan and were in no way the final episodes of Pocket Monsters 2019, these random names the dub throws onto specific chunks of the various Pokemon series in the west have never mattered much.
