Kind of a scattershot week, but whatever. I actually beat MH Rise's final boss recently, which I expected to take at 100 hundred hours, but managed it in about 70. Talk about flattening the difficulty curve. Now to just wait for the inevitable updates.

-Jojo: Yes.

-Pac-Man 99: I've played a few rounds and it's what I expected, though not quite as manic and chaotic as Mario 35.

its new release date is now 2023. That means that if the game actually makes that release date, it will have been in development hell for nearly seven years. Holy crap! [...] Still, seven years! I think that's a good sign that several things went horribly wrong in the making-of process… though we'll likely never know the particulars, sadly.

This might be the case of Akihiro Hino loving the process of developing the game, rather than having the game fully developed.

I really have to wonder if the Inazuma Eleven franchise is worth the time and money that's been spent on trying to create this next game, but what else does Level-5 have nowadays?

They have still Snack World Wink

Hiro said back in 2018 that the anime series is far from being over.

The most I remember about IE: Ares was that it was originally outsourced, and they did have a "finished" product, but Hino hated it and decided to do it in-house after Yokai Gakuen Y shipped.

Yokai Gakuen Y turned out really well, and incorporated a lot of the non-soccer mechanics the Inazuma Eleven RPGs were known for (tons of characters on a massive relationship chart, opt-in random encounters, etc.), so if he decided to hand the project to that team, it's in really, really good hands. Shame about the release date, though, but it's not like I haven't already been waiting since Go Galaxy...
