CR to Sunrise/Bandai: "we dub it pretty cheap and non-union"
that's probably what happened...

First Gundam Series not to be dub by NYAV Post or Bang Zoom! Entertainment

There was a time Gundam shows were dubbed in Canada, but yeah the sentiment is the same. This is the first Gundam show done by a full Texas-based cast and crew.

Yea that was shocking…. Sunrise usually goes with LA/NY or Ocean group.

Ocean Group in Canada was dubbing Gundam before those two took over. Also, I think this means that all four of the main North American Anime dubbing States/Countries(Canada, California, New York, & Texas) has done something for Gundam.

Either way, congrats to the cast and drew.

It's surreal to see a Texas-based Gundam dub. I kind of wonder if there was a specific reason for the change. Like it was cheaper to use Texas? Or they lost money on the Union dub for the Doan movie? I thought the dub for this was taking longer precisely so they could use an LA cast for it.

At the rate things are going it feels like LA will barely get to dub anything major that's not a new season of an old show or something on Netflix.

Either way the cast looks top-tier. I know Jill Harris can capture Suletta’s adorable and awkward yet steadfast personality while Natalie knows how to voice cool beauties like Miorine.

Elizabeth Maxwell is also going to kill it as Prospera.

When the prologue dropped I said I'd reserve judgement until the full cast list was officially out, but now that it is I can't help but be a bit disappointed with the casting. I honestly had high hopes for Witch From Mercury that they would cast a MENA/SWANA lead here for Suletta since its just so rare in anime, but I guess that was under the assumption a studio like NYAV Post would get the title. Kinda sours the otherwise pretty cool news that a TX team finally gets to spearhead a Gundam title for the first(?) time I believe. Not to mention some other exciting or inspired casting choices in the supporting roles (Elizabeth Maxwell is a near-perfect choices for Prospera, and it's really cool to see names like Bradley Gareth, Gabe Kunda, Sara Ragsdale, and Cassie Ewulu on here).

So this is the very first Texas Gundam dub correct? Prior dubs were done in Canada, under Bandai Visual US, and later LA and NY.

I was hoping this would be a NYAV Post dub like most of the other recent Gundam dubs but this cast is looking solid so far and I'm just glad it's finally out. I was worried for a bit there they were just going to skip over dubbing G-Witch.

Correction, it's Bandai Entertainment

Bandai Visual USA was a separate company and with the one Gundam series they did have (MS IGLOO), they didn't dub any of it.

This is a fantastic cast. It makes sense for a Texas based company to make a dub in Texas. Crunchyroll most likely has full control of this license, and Sunrise has no say in where the English dub is being made.

Whenever they post English staff credits in the episodes, we'll find out for sure.

Also here's hoping that they get the final masters for home video since Funi's Iron Blooded Orphans releases used the TV broadcast version.

Apparently Jill Harris didn't voice Eri in the prologue, Sarah Wiedenheft did?

I think its cool having a Texas cast for Gundam since these VAs haven't been in Gundam yet, but it's a shame they couldn't get a MENA VA for Suletta. This is why people have been advocating for a hybrid approach. Use local talent for most of the voices, but use remote recording to fill in those gaps. I'm sure Jill Harris will do fine as Suletta, but it will leave a sour taste in my mouth for what could have been. For the rest of the cast, I think its great. Alejandro Saab as Shaddiq is a great decision (an actual proper casting of a MENA VA for a MENA character). Also, Brittney Karbowski as ChuChu is PERFECT casting. Easily the most exciting character for me to hear in English.
