I'll have to see how it works. It was pretty clunky to get around before. And maybe this will fix the bug I've had for a long time now that if I watch something it would delete it from my queue, so the only way to keep track of where I left off was to stop right before the end of an episode and have it sit in the "continue watching" thing.

I also hope they fixed the issues I been having.. mainly on the matter where I can’t track where I am app from the app and the website… if I watch Episode 2 of X on the website… and I go to the App.. I have no clue on where I am at there.. I have to go to the website again to see where I am at.. and if I watch episode 3 of the same anime and go to the website… it shows I have not watched it yet.

Oh thank God.

The HIDIVE iOS app has been hot garbage for years now. Hopefully this will make it at least halfway functional.

Can it airplay yet? I don’t have a Roku box, and there is no HIDIVE app on my smart tv, PS5 or switch.

Well, I found the bug in this updated version when you start watching the dub version when you see the Japanese words they don’t show the English subtitles you would have to manually change the caption to English subtitles, but every word the characters speak you end up seeing the subtitles so that’s gonna be real annoying when you have to shut off the caption again

I hate it but YMMV I guess. Once I have everything going, just play the episode with nothing on top of it, I don't know what that's so hard to figure out. A new episode display for shows that don't even exist yet? why? I accepted the Cookies, I rejected the cookies, I don't think there's a third option. Clear the screen, please!

God, I wish. The app is also glitched if you use ChromeCast (it changes audio frequencies whenever the video quality changes, so the sound cuts out for a second and watching anything without subtitles is impossible).

It doesn't appear to have a queue at all. How am I supposed to keep track of the shows I'm watching if I don't have a queue? Has their designer never used a streaming website ever?
They've also completely removed the contact info so there's no way to report bugs and get irrelevant canned replies from their nonexistent customer service.

Edit: There is a 'watchlists' section under the More menu. I swear there wasn't earlier, but maybe I just didn't register that name for them.

Also worth noting that, despite not being listed in the announcement, Hidive's Xbox app has also been updated. I imagine it's likely the least known platform for the app, but it's the one I've used most recently (i.e. still a while back by now, but still), so it's nice to see that it was also updated.

As for why there isn't an app for the PlayStation, I think Hidive did admit at one point a few years back that a PS4 app had been developed, but Sony never approved it for the PS Store. This would be back when Sony had purchased FUNimation, since Hidive previously relied on VRV for app watching, so it would make sense.

Only upside to the website at this moment is that it's faster, at least for me. However, being locked into yellow subs is just not something I want to deal with, so no hidive for me until they provide the color customization they promise will be added in future updates

Offline viewing is huge for me. I have family that I visit and their internet connection is garbage. I'd love to have the option of offline viewing when I'm there. I wish all streamers offered offline viewing.

The update almost completely wiped out my entire viewing history except for four or five episodes. I started watching an episode on my Fire Cube, and there were no subtitles, and I couldn't find a way to turn subtitles on while in the episode itself, so I gave up and switched to my computer. It works fine on the computer, except for two issues: 1) They got rid of the 10 second forward and back buttons, and 2) there's a big annoying shield icon in the lower left corner for cookie settings, and the icon itself can't be gotten rid of as far as I could tell.
